PM Modi Lays The Foundation Stone Of The Gandhinagar Railway Station Redevelopment Project

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, laid the foundation stone for the development of the Gandhinagar railway station.

Rs 250 crore project entails redeveloping the Gandhinagar Railway station as a modern hub. According to Indian Railways, the redeveloped Gandhinagar railway station will be India’s “first railway station jeweled with amenities at par with modern airports’.

The station is being developed through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) between Government of Gujarat and Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation Ltd (IRSDC) with equal equity participation in Rs 100 crore capital. He was in Gandhinagar to inaugurate the International Stock Exchange at GIFT city, as part of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2017. The summit runs between between January 10 and 14 in Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad

Mr. Modi will also open the first-of-its-kind conclave of Nobel laureates in Ahmedabad. The Nobel Media is holding the first Nobel Prize Series in India, coordinated by the Department of Biotechnology in Delhi. Nine Nobel laureates are expected to attend and meet PM Modi.

The Nobel Prize Series, India 2017 will feature a 5-week long Science Exhibition being set up by the Nobel Foundation, with exhibits from the Nobel Museum, Stockholm, Sweden.
