'ABCD' — એ ટેગ જે ચોંટી ગયો, પણ ખૂંચ્યો પણ
American-Born Confused Desi — ABCD. આ શબ્દ ક્યારેક મજાકમાં, ક્યારેક કટાક્ષમાં, ક્યારેક સ્નેહથી ઉછળે છે. ભારતથી આવેલા relatives ઘણી વાર ઉપહાસ સાથે કહે, "આ ABCD છે, ગુજરાતી ક્યાંથી આવડે?" — અને અમેરિકન ક્લાસરૂમમાં "Where are you really from?" સાંભળવા મળે.
San Jose ના 29 વર્ષના Mihir Shah આ feeling ને સારી રીતે ઓળખે છે. "Growing up, I was always 'the Indian kid' at school and 'the American kid' at family gatherings. ક્યાંય ફિટ નહોતો. પણ હવે હું realize કર્યું છે — I'm not confused. I'm just both. And that's actually a superpower."

TikTok, Instagram અને 'ગુજ્જુ Content Creator' Revolution
Social media એ આ generation ને એક unexpected platform આપ્યો — ગુજરાતી ઓળખ celebrate કરવા માટે, apologize કર્યા વગર.

27 વર્ષની Kavya Mehta, Los Angeles based content creator, કહે છે: "My most viral video was me trying to explain 'undhiyu' to my Black coworker. 2 million views. People love authenticity. ગુજ્જુ culture genuinely interesting and unique છે — we just had to own it."
Kavya ની videos માં ગુજરાती phrases, recipes, wedding traditions — બધું mix છે. Comment section ભરેલો હોય ગુજ્જુ diaspora ના "OMG same!!!" અને "My nani does this too!!" — એ connection, એ belonging, digital space માં મળી રહ્યું છે.

"Garba is our Coachella," laughs 25 વર્ષના Raj Trivedi, Dallas. "Seriously though — we plan outfits months in advance, we practice dandiya, we go with our whole friend group. It's our culture, but it's also just… fun."
